The purpose of the Personal Training position is to assess, encourage, and educate clients following proper guidelines for testing and exercise prescription. This position will not only be responsible for potentially taking on existing clients, but will also be responsible for growing their own clientele and business through the T-Rec and teaching gym members the benefits of personal training. This position will report directly to the Fitness Center Assistant Director.
Job Duties and Responsibilities
- Provide clients with a comprehensive fitness assessment during which you will establish baseline measurements and SMART goals based on fitness assessment results and clients’ goals.
- Provide clients with safe, reasonable programming that they can perform with you during training sessions as well as on their own.
- Keep clients motivated through ample communication.
- Communicate with the campus dietitian regarding the client’s nutrition.
- Talk to members and the campus community about their goals and inform them of the personal training program.
- Advise clients about important safety concerns when it comes to exercise.
- Demonstrate the proper form of exercises.
- Ensure clients have made payment to the front office prior to starting personal training (new clients and renewals).
- Attend all mandatory meetings and keep up to date with mandatory certifications and training.
