Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Wheelchair Driver to join our team and provide reliable, safe, and friendly transportation for clients requiring mobility assistance. This role is vital in helping our clients access medical appointments, community activities, and essential services with ease and care.
Responsibilities
- Safely operate passenger vehicles, including passenger vans and shuttle buses, adhering strictly to traffic regulations and state transportation laws.
- Transport clients in wheelchairs or with mobility needs along local routes, ensuring timely and secure arrivals.
- Assist clients with boarding, disembarking, and securing wheelchairs or mobility devices during transit.
- Maintain communication with clients to provide a positive experience and address any special needs or concerns.
- Conduct routine vehicle inspections and basic maintenance checks to ensure safety standards are met.
- Follow all safety protocols related to manual handling of clients and heavy lifting when assisting with mobility devices.
- Keep accurate records of trips, mileage, and client interactions in compliance with company policies.
Skills
- Proven experience as a delivery driver, shuttle driver, or bus driver with a focus on passenger safety.
- Familiarity with GPS navigation systems for efficient route planning.
- Strong understanding of local driving routes and adherence to traffic laws and state transportation regulations.
- Excellent customer service skills to communicate effectively with clients and team members.
- Ability to perform manual handling tasks safely when assisting clients or managing mobility equipment.
- Experience in medical transportation or paratransit services is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of vehicle maintenance routines to ensure the reliability of assigned vehicles.
- Exceptional communication skills for client interaction and coordination with dispatch teams.

Pay: $13.00 - $19.00 per hour
