- Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently, including dishwashers, slicers, mixers, and ovens.
- Follow food safety protocols and proper food handling procedures to prevent contamination and ensure hygiene.
- Maintain cleanliness of the kitchen environment by sanitizing work surfaces, floors, and storage areas regularly.
- Communicate effectively with kitchen staff to coordinate tasks and ensure timely meal service.
Skills
- Experience working in dietary departments or as a dietary aide is highly desirable.
- Strong background in food preparation, cooking, and operating various kitchen equipment.
- Knowledge of safety standards in food production and food handling practices.
- Familiarity with menu planning, recipe adherence, and meal preparation techniques.
- Excellent knife skills with slicing techniques for efficient ingredient prep.
- Ability to follow detailed instructions accurately while maintaining high standards of cleanliness and safety.
- Previous restaurant or catering experience is a plus for understanding fast-paced food service environments.
