Job Title: Part-Time School-Based Occupational Therapist (OT)
Reports To: Director of Special Education
Employment Status: Part-Time (school year August-May)
Location: Doral Academy of Nevada, Fire Mesa Campus, 2568 Fire Mesa Street, Las Vegas, NV
Schedule: Approximate hours per week= 8-12 hours (equivalent to 1-1.5 days) flexible schedule based on student needs and school calendar
Position Summary
Doral Academy Fire Mesa is a public charter school serving students in grades K-8. The part-time school-based Occupational Therapist provides occupational therapy services to students with disabilities and developmental challenges to support their participation and success in the educational environment. OT services are provided according to each student's Individual Educational Program (IEP). The OT conducts OT screenings and evaluations, develops individualized treatment plans, collaborates with the school's IEP teams, and implements interventions that enhance students' functional, motor, sensory, self-care, and school participation skills. The position is part-time and contracted on an hourly basis.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Conduct occupational therapy screenings, evaluations and assessments in accordance with federal, state, and district guidelines.
- Develop and implement individualized therapy goals and interventions as part of the Individualized Education Program (IEP) process.
- Provide direct and indirect occupational therapy services to students in individual and group settings.
- Collaborate with teachers, parents, administrators, and related service providers to support student achievement and participation in school activities.
- Participate in IEP meetings and contribute recommendations regarding student needs, accommodations, and service delivery.
- Monitor student progress and maintain accurate documentation, treatment notes, and progress reports.
- Recommend adaptive equipment, assistive technology, and environmental modifications to enhance student performance.
- Train and consult with school staff regarding strategies to support students' functional and sensory needs.
- Maintain compliance with all Doral Academy, state, and federal regulations related to occupational therapy services.
- Support students in developing fine motor, visual-motor, sensory processing, self-regulation, self-care, and functional classroom skills.
- Perform other duties as assigned within the scope of occupational therapy practice.
QualificationsRequired
- Current state licensure as an Occupational Therapist.
- National Board certification for Occupational Therapy or Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant
- Knowledge of Federal special education laws, IEP processes, and school-based service delivery.
- Strong communication, organizational, and collaboration skills.
Preferred
- Master's degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program.
- Previous experience working in a school setting.
- Experience with pediatric populations and students with diverse learning, developmental, and physical needs.
- Knowledge of sensory integration, assistive technology, and adaptive equipment.

- Ability to lift, position, or assist students when necessary, consistent with safety guidelines.
- Ability to operate standard office and therapy equipment.
Compensation and Benefits
