Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Medical Assistant to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care across various medical settings, including outpatient clinics, hospital medicine, urgent care, and specialized units such as Geriatrics, PICU, and Medical-Surgical departments. The Medical Assistant will support physicians and healthcare providers by performing clinical and administrative duties, ensuring smooth operations and high-quality patient experiences.
Responsibilities
- Assist with patient intake procedures, including collecting medical histories and updating electronic health records (EHR systems)
- Measure and record vital signs accurately and efficiently
- Prepare patients for examinations and procedures in outpatient, inpatient, or emergency settings
- Support physicians with basic medical procedures such as medication administration, specimen collection, and wound care
- Perform basic life support (BLS) when necessary and respond effectively in emergency situations
- Assist with ICD coding, anatomy, physiology knowledge application, and understanding of medical terminology for documentation purposes
- Operate diagnostic equipment such as X-ray machines when trained and certified
- Support hospital medicine teams in Level I and Level II trauma centers as well as Geriatrics, Internal Medicine, or other specialty units
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of clinical areas while adhering to safety protocols
- Provide excellent patient service by addressing questions, ensuring comfort, and facilitating smooth flow of clinic operations
Experience
- Prior experience working in hospital medicine, outpatient clinics, or urgent care settings is highly desirable
- Experience with hospital or clinic environments such as Level I Trauma Centers or Level II Trauma Centers is advantageous
- Familiarity with medical administrative support tasks including EHR systems management and ICD coding
- Knowledge of medical-surgical procedures, Geriatrics care, PICU protocols, OR experience, or Emergency Medicine is preferred
- Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) is required or must be obtained upon hire
- Previous experience with X-ray operation or other diagnostic tools is a plus
- Strong understanding of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, medication administration, and patient care standards across diverse specialties such as internal medicine or geriatrics

Pay: $20.00 - $24.00 per hour
