We are currently hiring seasonal employees for our summer season (now-September) to help create hardcover books in our book bindery. We use several machines to convert paperback books into hardcovers for public schools across the country. This is a fast-paced, friendly environment with lots of opportunity to learn. Three machines earn a production bonus based on exceeding production quotas.
Mrs. Nelson's Book Company offers book ordering and binding services to schools. Our bindery creates durable hardcover editions that withstand heavy use in schools and classrooms. Our bindery employees work with several machines like large paper cutters, laminators, automated book trimming machines, cover makers and machines that glue the pages to the cover.
Applicants must have the following:
- Two forms of government ID.
- The ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for up to 8 hours
- The ability to learn quickly, work independently, and be self-motivated
- Meet or exceed our production quotas while maintaining quality with minimal errors
- Bilingual Spanish-English is a plus but not necessary
We are hiring for two shifts: Monday-Friday 6am-2:30pm and 2:30pm-11pm.
Our bindery is in a warehouse without climate control so it can get hot in the summer. Our machine stations require the operator to stand for the duration of the shift. Since we run production and each station's work is dependent on the prior station, workers must be punctual.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $17.00 - $18.00 per hour
