Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Med Tech/Caregiver to provide exceptional support and care to residents in a healthcare or senior living environment. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in patient care, with experience working with elderly individuals, those with developmental disabilities, or residents requiring specialized memory care. This role offers an opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of residents by delivering personalized assistance while maintaining the highest standards of safety, confidentiality, and professionalism. Duties
- Assist residents with daily activities such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support to promote independence and dignity.
- Monitor vital signs and document medical information accurately using Electronic Health Record (EHR) and Electronic Medical Record (EMR) systems.
- Administer medications and treatments in accordance with physician orders and state healthcare regulations while maintaining strict adherence to HIPAA guidelines for patient confidentiality.
- Support residents with specialized needs including Alzheimer's care, dementia care, memory care, and hospice support.
- Perform manual handling tasks safely during resident transfers or heavy lifting activities to prevent injury.
- Maintain accurate medical documentation and records, ensuring compliance with all regulatory standards.
- Communicate effectively with residents, families, and healthcare team members to coordinate care plans and address individual needs.
- Follow protocols for emergency response including First Aid and CPR procedures to ensure resident safety at all times.
Qualifications
- Prior experience in assisted living facilities, nursing homes, hospitals, or home care environments is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of medical terminology, physiology, anatomy, and senior care best practices.
- Certification in First Aid and Basic Life Support (BLS), CPR required; additional certifications such as HIPAA training preferred.
- Familiarity with EMR systems such as Epic or Cerner as well as EHR systems for accurate medical documentation.
- Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities or those requiring memory care is advantageous.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and handle physically demanding tasks associated with caregiving roles.
- Strong communication skills coupled with compassionate caregiving abilities to foster trust and rapport with residents.
- Compliance with State Board of Nursing regulations or similar licensing requirements is preferred; relevant certifications are a plus.
