About Us
Urban Ventures (UV) is a faith-based nonprofit organization breaking the cycle of poverty by educating kids, strengthening their families, and building a healthy community. We partner with families in some the most under-resourced neighborhoods of south Minneapolis with one overarching goal–to send every youth to college or some form of post-secondary education.
Cristo Rey Jesuit High School (CRJHS) is a private Roman Catholic high school with a mission to provide an education in the Jesuit tradition which integrates college preparatory academic and professional work environments thereby preparing students from under-resourced families for success in college and life.
Major Responsibility
This position is responsible for supporting the facilities of UV and CRJHS and ensuring the safety of staff, students, and community members. The campus, consisting of several buildings, is located in South Minneapolis and serves over 15,000 community members and program participants each year.
Specific Responsibilities
- Patrol and secure buildings and grounds to check for potential security and safety hazards, fire, water leaks, and general building security, reporting all irregularities, emergencies, or suspicious activity
- Ensure the security, safety and well-being of all personnel, visitors and the premises
- Create access cards and staff/student IDs
- Provide Spanish-language translation services for Shared Services staff and visitors
- Provide directions to buildings, offices, and other general information to visitors
- Adhere to company service and operating standards
- Manage parking for campus parking lots and garages
- Respond to emergency and non-emergency calls
- Writes reports on incidents occurring on campus
- Complete a daily check-out list
- Provide excellent customer service
- Perform other duties as assigned
- 18+ years of age
- High school diploma or GED required
- Minimum of two years previous experience
- Capable of following complete instructions
- Proficient computer skills
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- An understanding of and commitment to the faith-based mission and values of Urban Ventures and Cristo Rey Jesuit High School

- 18+ years of age
- High school diploma or GED required
- Minimum of two years previous experience
- Capable of following complete instructions
- Proficient computer skills
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- An understanding of and commitment to the faith-based mission and values of Urban Ventures and Cristo Rey Jesuit High School
Education and Experience:
- High school diploma or GED required
- Minimum of two years previous security experience
Physical and Environmental Requirements:
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and walking
- Must be able to lift, push, and pull to 15-25 pounds regularly
Travel:
- Occasional travel to work functions
Schedule:
- 20 hours per week
- 6:30am-10:30am Weekdays
