Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Assistant Store Manager to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in supporting the Store Manager in overseeing daily operations, driving sales, and ensuring exceptional customer service. This position requires strong leadership skills, effective communication, and a passion for retail management. The Assistant Store Manager will be responsible for fostering a positive work environment while managing staff and maintaining store standards.
Duties
- Assist in the overall management of the store, including daily operations and staff supervision.
- Support recruitment efforts by conducting interviews and employee orientation.
- Oversee inventory management, including stock control, purchasing, and merchandising.
- Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures regarding payroll, cash handling, and bookkeeping.
- Drive sales through effective marketing strategies and retail math analysis.
- Provide excellent customer service by addressing inquiries and resolving issues promptly.
- Train and develop team members to enhance their skills in sales, customer service, and operational procedures.
- Manage shifts effectively to ensure optimal staffing levels and operational efficiency.
- Maintain a clean, organized store environment that meets company standards.
- Utilize point-of-sale (POS) systems for transactions and inventory tracking.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in retail management or as an Assistant Manager with a focus on team management.
- Strong negotiation skills with the ability to influence others positively.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written; bilingual or multilingual abilities are a plus.
- Proficient in retail math and financial management practices such as budgeting and payroll processing.
- Experience with inventory control systems and merchandising strategies.
- Strong organizational skills with effective time management capabilities.
- Ability to lead by example, motivating staff to achieve performance goals while providing exceptional customer experiences.
- Familiarity with grocery store operations is preferred but not mandatory.

Pay: $18.00 - $25.00 per hour
