Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) – Foot and Ankle Clinic
We are seeking a compassionate and detail-oriented Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) to join a busy Clinic on a full-time, 13-week temp-to-hire contract. This is an excellent opportunity to work alongside experienced podiatrists providing high-quality care for patients with foot and ankle conditions, injuries, diabetic foot care needs, and minor surgical procedures.
This position offers a Monday-Friday day shift, 40 hours per week, with no evenings, weekends, or holidays, allowing for an excellent work-life balance.
The ideal candidate is organized, patient-focused, and comfortable working in a fast-paced specialty clinic while assisting with both clinical and administrative duties.
Qualifications
- Current Medical Assistant Certification (CMA, RMA, CCMA, or equivalent)
- Current BLS/CPR Certification
- Previous experience in a medical office or specialty clinic preferred
- Experience obtaining vital signs and documenting patient histories
- Knowledge of EMR systems and basic computer skills
- Comfortable assisting with minor office procedures
- Strong communication, organizational, and multitasking skills
- COVID vaccination required
Responsibilities
- Room patients and obtain vital signs, medical histories, and chief complaints.
- Prepare patients for podiatric examinations and treatments.
- Assist providers with foot and ankle evaluations, diabetic foot exams, wound care, nail procedures, injections, splinting, casting, and other in-office procedures.
- Prepare and sterilize instruments while maintaining exam rooms according to infection control standards.
- Apply and remove dressings, walking boots, braces, casts, and compression wraps as directed by the provider.
- Perform phlebotomy and specimen collection when needed.
- Educate patients on post-procedure care, wound care, medications, diabetic foot care, and treatment plans.
- Maintain accurate documentation within the electronic medical record (EMR).
- Schedule appointments, coordinate referrals, obtain prior authorizations, and assist with insurance verification.
- Stock examination rooms, monitor medical supplies, and maintain a clean, organized clinical environment.
- Deliver exceptional patient care while supporting providers in a fast-paced specialty practice.
