Water and Sewerage System Engineer
Lead position for a seasoned and licensed engineer who has demonstrated expertise in the design and permitting of water distribution systems and sanitary sewerage collection and conveyance systems.
The person in this position will:
- Consult with clients and senior management to guide a project from its concept phase through design approvals and ultimately construction;
- Be responsible for managing multiple water system and sanitary sewerage system design projects including developing project schedules and budgets;
- Work in a team environment with staff engineers and other support personnel while actively engaging in design of water distribution, transmission, storage systems, and sanitary sewerage collection conveyance and pumping systems;
- Have experience with water system modeling and the design, testing, and permitting of water source, pumping, and storage systems;
- Have experience with Inflow/Infiltration studies and management and remediation methods such as joint repair and sealing, trenchless restoration technologies, and manhole lining systems;
- Have experience developing Act 537 Plans, completing Chapter 94 Reports, establishing Industrial Waste/Excess Strength monitoring programs;
- Have experience developing Master Plans for water distribution systems and sanitary sewerage systems, and assisting with development of Tapping Fee/Connection Fee ordinances and rates and usage rate schedules;
- Have experience with PADEP permitting processes and requirements including Planning Modules, Water Quality Management Permits, Joint 105 Permits, and General Permits; and
- Represent the firm in meetings with the client, municipal regulatory bodies, and other permitting agencies – occasional attendance at night meetings is required.
Candidates should have completed a BS or MS in Civil Engineering and be a Professional Engineer registered in Pennsylvania (or be able to obtain registration in Pennsylvania via reciprocity within 6 months of hire). Candidates should have a minimum 8 years of experience with the design and permitting of water distribution, source, and storage systems as well as water booster stations, and with sanitary sewerage systems, collection and conveyance systems, and pump stations. Candidates should also be familiar with AutoCAD Civil 3D and Microsoft Office Suite programs. Strong verbal and written communication skills are required for this position.
While this leadership position may occasionally require in-person meetings with clients and public boards, working remotely and virtually with some flexibility in hours is a feasible alternative to full-time in-office participation.
