Duties
- Prepare ingredients and assemble components according to established recipes and menu specifications
- Assist in cooking, slicing, chopping, and portioning food items using proper knife skills and slicing techniques
- Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently, including ovens, mixers, blenders, and food processors
- Maintain cleanliness of workstations by following strict cleaning protocols to ensure food safety standards are met
- Support meal preparation for various service settings such as catering events or restaurant service
- Communicate effectively with kitchen staff to coordinate food production and ensure timely delivery of meals
- Follow all food safety management practices, including proper food handling, storage, and sanitation procedures
Experience
- Previous dietary department or dietary aide experience is highly desirable
- Hands-on experience in food service or restaurant environments demonstrating knowledge of kitchen operations
- Familiarity with menu planning, recipe adherence, and meal preparation processes
- Strong understanding of safety standards in food production and handling practices
- Experience with catering or large-scale food service operations is a plus
- Excellent communication skills to collaborate seamlessly with kitchen staff and other team members
- Culinary experience including knife skills, slicing techniques, and cooking methods that ensure high-quality food production
