Duties
- Greet guests warmly and provide attentive, personalized service throughout their dining experience
- Take accurate food and beverage orders using POS systems such as Aloha POS or Micros POS
- Serve food and drinks efficiently, ensuring proper presentation and timely delivery
- Upsell menu items including wines, spirits, cocktails, and specialty dishes to enhance guest satisfaction and sales
- Process cash and credit transactions accurately while handling cash handling responsibilities with integrity
- Maintain cleanliness and sanitation standards in compliance with food safety regulations
- Assist with food preparation, bussing tables, and supporting kitchen staff as needed to ensure smooth operations
- Use reservation management tools like OpenTable to optimize seating arrangements and guest flow
- Demonstrate extensive knowledge of wine, spirits, and cocktail recipes to educate guests and recommend pairings
- Manage guest relations by addressing inquiries or concerns promptly to ensure a positive dining experience
Experience
- Previous food service experience in a restaurant or hospitality setting is highly preferred
- Familiarity with POS systems such as Aloha POS or Micros POS is advantageous
- Experience with fine dining environments or high-volume establishments is a plus
- Knowledge of food safety standards and proper food handling procedures is essential
- Strong time management skills to prioritize tasks efficiently during busy hours
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to engage guests warmly and professionally
- Basic math skills for processing sales transactions accurately
- Experience with beverage service including spirits, wine knowledge, cocktail mixing, and drink presentation is desirable
- Prior host/hostess or bussing experience can be beneficial for team versatility
