Job Summary

Must be willing to work weekends.
Responsibilities
- Provide daily care for animals including feeding, watering, exercising, and administering medication as directed
- Maintain cleanliness of kennels, cages, and common areas through thorough cleaning and sanitization to ensure a hygienic environment
- Handle animals with patience and confidence, employing proper restraint techniques to ensure safety for both pets and staff
- Assist with pet boarding and pet sitting services, ensuring all animals are comfortable and well-cared-for during their stay
- Support veterinary technicians and assistants with animal handling, grooming, and basic medical procedures when needed
- Monitor animal behavior closely to identify signs of stress or illness, reporting concerns promptly to veterinary staff
- Uphold safety standards during outdoor work activities such as walking dogs or cleaning outdoor kennels; practice team lifting techniques for heavy objects or equipment
Skills
- Previous veterinary experience or veterinary technician experience highly preferred
- Strong animal handling skills with knowledge of animal behavior and restraint techniques
- Experience in pet sitting, dog training, or pet grooming enhances your ability to care for diverse animals effectively
- Excellent customer service skills to communicate confidently with pet owners and team members
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely during kennel cleaning or outdoor work activities
- Knowledge of pet care facility sanitization practices to maintain a clean environment
- Outdoor work experience is beneficial for tasks involving outdoor kennels or walking dogs regularly
