Job Summary
Novi Woods Montessori is currently seeking a fun and energetic Montessori Lead Teacher for our school! We seek highly-motivated, gentle, nurturing individuals with a passion for children ages 3 to 6 and their development & education.
Lead Teachers’ most important role is to create a safe, positive environment for our students!
Responsibilities and Duties
-Overseeing the planning, implementation, and evaluation of the Montessori curriculum and child assessment.
-Delegating various tasks to associate instructors to ensure proper classroom management.
-Responsible for ensuring compliance with our school and the State of Michigan’s licensing standards
-Providing daily information to the parents and establishing positive relationships with families.
-Developing and maintaining an appropriate environment.
-Interacting with the children to support play, exploration, and learning.
-Overseeing caregiving staff for a specific group of children and overall care and supervision of children.
-Be at least 19 years of age.
-Participation in staff and training meetings.
-Communicating appropriately and professionally with parents and fellow staff.
-Committing to continuing education (24 hours of training each year, including CPR and First Aid are required)
-Maintaining a clean environment for all students
Qualifications
Completed training through a Montessori primary (ages 3–6) certification program affiliated with either:
- Montessori Accreditation Council for Teacher Education (MACTE),
- Association Montessori Internationale (AMI)
- American Montessori Society (AMS)
