Maintenance Technician

Pay: $19.00 – $20.00 per hour, negotiable based on experience

A large real estate development and property management company is seeking a dependable and skilled Maintenance Technician for a residential apartment community in Hamden, CT.
The ideal candidate will have hands-on maintenance experience, strong troubleshooting skills, and the ability to complete work orders in a timely and professional manner. This position requires someone who is reliable, organized, and able to interact with residents and team members in a professional manner.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Complete apartment maintenance work orders in a timely and efficient manner
Perform general repairs, including plumbing, electrical, carpentry, painting, appliances, and basic HVAC as needed
Assist with apartment turnovers and make-ready work
Respond to resident maintenance requests professionally
Maintain cleanliness and organization of work areas, tools, and maintenance supplies
Inspect property areas and report maintenance or safety concerns
Assist with preventative maintenance as needed
Communicate with the Property Manager and maintenance team regarding work order status and property needs
Follow company policies and safety procedures
Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
Prior residential maintenance, apartment maintenance, or building maintenance experience preferred
Basic knowledge of plumbing, electrical, carpentry, painting, appliances, and general repairs
HVAC experience is a plus
Must be dependable, punctual, and able to work independently
Strong communication and customer service skills
Ability to interact professionally with residents, vendors, and team members
Must be legally authorized to work in the United States
