The Joan Fenichel Therapeutic Nursery is seeking an OTR/L, who will be responsible for the examination, care planning and performing occupational therapy treatment. He/she will delegate and monitor responsibilities assigned to COTA’s.
OCCUPATIONAL THERAPIST ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Administer appropriate diagnostic tests and treatment to children with a wide variety of disabilities as necessary.
- Provide treatment in accordance with the weekly schedule including scheduling of make-ups and diagnostic evaluations.
- Write and maintain complete reports on children which include diagnostic evaluations, daily notes, recommendations, re-evaluations, discharges, and any other reports needed.
- Document all clinical tasks thoroughly, accurately and in a timely manner as required by the Agency.
- Request, utilize and maintain appropriate therapeutic materials and equipment.
- Communicate with staff, parents and other professionals in an effort to provide total therapeutic programs for students.
- Accurately maintain student records and statistical information.
- Participate in staff and program development as needed.
- Responsible for the safety of persons served under his/her supervision.
- Assist with staff training and development as needed.
OCCUPATIONAL THERAPIST REQUIREMENTS:
- Minimum of B.S. degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited college or university.
- Currently registered New York State License in Occupational Therapy.
- Two years clinical / Occupational Therapist experience preferred. Experience with developmental disabilities desired.
Position is Monday through Friday, 8:30 am to 3:30 pm.
