Responsibilities
- Lead classroom instruction with a focus on child development principles, incorporating curriculum development tailored to preschool and toddler-aged children.
- Design and implement innovative lesson plans that integrate literacy education, math, physical education, and social-emotional learning strategies.
- Manage classroom environments to ensure safety, positive behavior management, and effective classroom management practices are upheld at all times.
- Communicate regularly with parents and guardians to share progress updates, discuss developmental milestones, and address any concerns with professionalism and clarity.
- Supervise and mentor teaching staff, providing guidance on best practices in early intervention, special education accommodations, and mandated reporting laws.
- Oversee child welfare protocols, including first aid and CPR certification compliance, ensuring a safe environment for all children.
- Support staff in preparing for inspections and monitor each child's progress through assessments aligned with childhood development standards.
Requirements
- Proven experience working with children in educational or childcare settings, including preschool or toddler care environments.
- Strong background in curriculum development, lesson planning, and classroom management techniques.
- Knowledge of early intervention strategies, special education needs, and behavior management approaches.
- Excellent communication skills to effectively engage with children, parents, staff, and community partners.
- Demonstrated understanding of childhood development principles and early childhood education best practices.
- Experience teaching young children, implementing literacy and math curricula is highly desirable.
- Familiarity with mandated reporting laws related to child welfare and safety regulations in educational settings.
- Familiarity with TRS standards.
- Familiarity with Early Head Start and Head Start standards and practices.
- CDA or Associates in Child Development.
- Must be able to pass multiple background checks including FBI fingerprint checks.
