Job Summary
We are seeking dedicated Certified Peer Specialists to join our team full and/or part time. The Certified Peer Specialists will provide support and guidance to individuals facing mental health and/or substance use challenges by sharing their own lived experiences and offering encouragement and resources. Flexible schedules according to your availability. Must have certification and registration with Virginia Board of Counseling.
Duties
- Utilize education and peer support techniques to assist individuals in managing mental health situations
- Mentor individuals by sharing personal experiences and providing emotional support
- Conduct mental health peer sessions focusing on recovery-oriented practices
- Collaborate with behavioral health professionals to develop and implement treatment plans
- Utilize motivational interviewing techniques to inspire positive behavioral changes
- Assist in navigating social services and community resources
- Provide peer support during challenging situations
- Offer addiction education and support services as needed
Requirements
- Certification as a Peer Specialist
- Proficiency in peer support strategies
- Experience in mentoring individuals facing mental health challenges
- Knowledge of behavioral health practices and interventions helpful
- Familiarity with motivational interviewing techniques helpful
Pay: $21.00 - $23.00 per hour
