Responsibilities
- Safely operate a vehicle to deliver cannabis products across designated routes, adhering to all DOT (Department of Transportation) regulations and safety standards.
- Load and unload up to 50lb deliveries using proper manual handling techniques, ensuring safe lifting practices are followed at all times.
- Follow established delivery routes to optimize time and fuel consumption while maintaining punctuality.
- Provide excellent customer service by engaging professionally with clients during deliveries, answering questions, and ensuring satisfaction.
- Follow all legal requirements for cannabis transportation, including weight handling in the workplace and compliance with state-specific regulations.
- Maintain accurate delivery logs, route documentation, and delivery records in accordance with company policies.
- Conduct routine vehicle inspections before and after shifts to ensure safety and proper functioning of the vehicle.
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a delivery driver, courier, or similar role involving route driving and heavy lifting.
- Warehouse experience or familiarity with manual handling, load & unload procedures, and heavy lifting techniques.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record, NO accidents or violations in the last 5 years; experience operating a van or commercial vehicle preferred.
- Knowledge of DOT (Department of Transportation) regulations related to commercial driving and cargo safety.
- Ability to handle 50 lb weight safely in the workplace using proper manual handling practices.
- Strong customer service skills with professional communication abilities.
- Familiarity with safe lifting practices, and following route planning for efficient deliveries.
- Deliver cannabis products to licensed dispensaries and/or approved customers in accordance with NJ regulations.
- Pick up orders from approved facilities and transport them securely.
- Verify order accuracy and required documentation before leaving pickup locations and upon delivery.
- Follow all company safety, compliance, and security procedures.
- Maintain a clean and professional demeanor with customers and partners.
- Assist with loading/unloading deliveries as needed (including heavier product handling).
- Ensure the delivery vehicle is kept clean and in proper working condition.
- Report any issues, delays, or discrepancies promptly to dispatch/management
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
- Excellent teamwork and communication skills
