1st SHIFT 7 AM- 3:30 PM M-F
The Pharmacy Technician is a key member of the pharmacy team responsible for accurately preparing and labeling prescriptions for final dispensing. This position focuses on the filling and packaging of medications under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist. The technician will also be trained in other areas of pharmacy operations as needed.
Essential Functions:
- Accurately fill and package prescriptions based on pharmacy protocols and physician orders.
- Affix appropriate labeling, auxiliary labels, and patient instructions per pharmacy and regulatory requirements.
- Verify accuracy of National Drug Code (NDC) and lot numbers during the filling process.
- Maintain proper organization of completed prescription orders, ensuring timely hand-off to shipping, courier, or patient pick-up.
- Monitor and restock pharmacy supplies used in the filling area, including vials, labels, and bags.
- Collaborate with pharmacists and other technicians to ensure workflow efficiency and patient safety.
- Adhere to all company policies, pharmacy board regulations, and USP guidelines related to compounding and handling of medications.
- Support other areas of the pharmacy as needed, including inventory management, shipping, or data entry, depending on operational demands.
- Participate in ongoing training and cross-training initiatives to enhance technical knowledge and performance.
- Any other duties assigned by management.
qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Active pharmacy technician license in good standing with the State Board of Pharmacy.
- National certification (CPhT) preferred but not required.
- 1+ year of experience in a retail pharmacy preferred.
- Basic knowledge of pharmaceutical terminology, medication names, and prescription abbreviations.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Willingness to adapt to evolving pharmacy needs
Work Environment and Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to stand for extended periods and perform repetitive tasks.
- Ability to lift up to 30 pounds occasionally.
- Must adhere to strict hygiene, dress code, and safety standards within the pharmacy.

Pay: $22.00 - $24.00 per hour
