Position Summary
The Human Resources Manager is responsible for leading and managing all human resources functions within a manufacturing environment. This role serves as a strategic business partner to plant leadership while ensuring compliance with employment laws, promoting employee engagement, supporting workforce planning, and developing programs that drive organizational performance. The HR Manager oversees recruitment, employee relations, training and development, compensation, benefits administration, performance management, and labor relations as applicable.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Forster a positive, productive, and engaged work environment
- Investigate employee complaints, workplace concerns, and policy violations
- Provide guidance and coaching to managers and supervisors on employee relation matters
- Support conflict resolution and corrective action processes
- Ensure consistent application of company policies and procedures
- Develop and execute recruiting strategies to attract skilled manufacturing talent
- Partner with hiring managers to identify staffing needs and workforce requirements
- Manage the full recruitment lifecycle including sourcing, interviewing, hiring and onboarding
- Coordinate with temporary staffing agencies for workforce planning initiatives
- Monitor turnover trends and implement retention strategies
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations
- Maintain accurate employee records and documentation
- Oversee compliance related to FMLA, ADA, EEO, worker?s compensation and employment regulations
- Administer performance management programs and annual review processes
- Partner with leaders to identify training and development needs
- Coordinate leadership development, succession planning, and career growth initiatives
- Support employee recognition and engagement programs
- Administer compensation programs and support wage analysis activities
- Manage employee benefits enrollment and communication
- Assist employees with benefit related questions and concerns
- Support collective bargaining agreement administration
- Participate in grievance resolution processes
- Ensure adherence to labor agreements and company policies
- Collaborate with EHS Specialist to promote a strong safety culture
- Support worker?s compensation and return-to-work programs
- Participate in Safety Committee and employee wellness initiatives
- Track and analyze key HR metrics including turnover, absenteeism, hiring, retention, and training effectiveness
- Prepare reports and recommendations for plant and executive leadership
- Identify trends and implement improvement initiatives
Additional Duties
Complete other tasks as directed by the CFO. May be asked to assist with corrective actions or continuous improvement projects.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor?s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Organizational Development, or related field
- 5-8 years of progressive human resources experience
- Minimum 3 years in HR leadership role, preferably within manufacturing, industrial or production environment
- Experience supporting hourly and salary workforce
- Microsoft Off applications including excel, work and outlook
Preferred Qualifications
- SHRM, SPHR certification
- Union experience
- Experience with diverse leadership level reporting and communication
