Overview
BridgePoint Institute of Health Sciences is seeking a certified CPR/BLS Instructor to teach American Heart Association (AHA) courses. This is a part‑time, contract position ideal for an instructor who is passionate about education, skilled in hands‑on training, and committed to maintaining high standards of professionalism and instructional quality.
Responsibilities
- Teach AHA BLS Provider and CPR/AED certification classes
- Demonstrate proper CPR, AED, and emergency response techniques
- Assess student performance and provide clear, constructive feedback
- Prepare classroom materials, manikins, and equipment prior to each class
- Maintain accurate attendance and certification documentation
- Ensure compliance with AHA guidelines and BridgePoint policies
- Foster a positive, supportive, and engaging learning environment
Requirements
- Current AHA BLS Instructor Certification (required)
- Strong communication and teaching skills
- Ability to manage small groups and provide hands‑on instruction
- Reliable transportation to Bloomfield, CT
- Professional, punctual, and organized
- Comfortable teaching evenings or weekends as needed
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience teaching CPR/BLS or adult education
- Additional instructor credentials (First Aid, ACLS, PALS, etc.)
- Healthcare background (CNA, EMT, MA, RN, etc.)
Compensation
- $25–$35 per hour, based on experience
- Additional per‑student bonuses available
