Duties
- Oversee leasing processes, including lease or rental agreement management, tenant screening, and onboarding to ensure a smooth move-in experience.
- Manage property operations using tools such as Yardi, OneSite, and property management software to streamline data entry, rent collection, and reporting.
- Maintain compliance with Fair Housing regulations, Landlord-Tenant Law, LIHTC (Low-Income Housing Tax Credit), Section 8 housing programs, and other legal requirements.
- Handle client communication with tenants and prospective residents via phone, email, and in-person interactions to promote excellent customer service and resolve issues promptly.
- Coordinate property maintenance and facilities management activities to ensure the property's safety, cleanliness, and functionality.
- Conduct conflict management and negotiation with tenants regarding lease terms, rent adjustments, or disputes to foster positive relationships.
- Prepare budgets, track expenses, and assist with financial reporting to support property profitability goals.
- Supervise team members involved in leasing, customer service, administrative tasks, and property upkeep to promote a collaborative work environment.
Experience
- Proven property management experience with a strong understanding of leasing procedures and tenant relations.
- Familiarity with property management tools such as Yardi, OneSite, CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System), and customer relationship management software.
- Knowledge of legal administrative processes related to landlord-tenant law, Fair Housing regulations, LIHTC compliance, Section 8 programs, and contracts management.
- Demonstrated ability in conflict resolution, negotiation skills, and client communication to effectively address tenant concerns and maintain positive community relations.
- Experience in budgeting, facilities management, property maintenance coordination, and real estate administrative tasks is highly desirable.
- Strong office experience including data entry, filing systems, phone etiquette, upselling rental units or services, and general administrative support.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities efficiently while maintaining high standards of customer service in a fast-paced environment.
