Responsibilities
- Assist lead teachers in implementing curriculum plans aligned with educational standards such as the Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA) and individualized education programs (IEPs).
- Support students with disabilities, including those with autism and developmental disabilities, by providing tailored assistance and behavior management strategies.
- Engage children in literacy, math, and other foundational subjects through interactive lesson planning and activities.
- Assistant with transitions, and behavior to create a safe, organized learning environment that promotes positive social interactions.
- Collaborate with teachers to develop and adapt curriculum materials suitable for preschool, Montessori, or early childhood settings.
- Provide compassionate childcare for kindergarten to 8th grade children, ensuring their safety, well-being, and developmental progress.
Requirements
- Prior experience working with children in classroom or childcare settings; private school experience is a plus.
- Knowledge of childhood development principles and early childhood education practices.
- Familiarity with special education concepts, including IEP development and implementation.
- Strong communication skills to effectively collaborate with teachers, students, parents, and support staff.
- Ability to manage classroom behavior using positive reinforcement techniques and behavior management strategies.
- Experience working with students with disabilities or special education needs is highly desirable.
