Your expertise in dental assisting, infection control, and documentation will help us maintain the highest standards of safety and quality.
Responsibilities
- Assist dentists chairside during pediatric dental procedures with preparedness, prediction, and care.
- Handle recall cleaning appointments and take diagnostic X-rays.
- Prepare treatment rooms with sterilized instruments, dental materials, and necessary supplies following aseptic techniques.
- Take and develop dental X-rays using advanced imaging equipment and 3D scanners while maintaining strict infection control protocols.
- Manage patient records efficiently within Eaglesoft, ensuring accuracy in medical documentation and dental coding.
- Provide Nitrous Oxide monitoring and assist with higher-level surgical or sedation procedures as needed.
- Support clinical administrative workflows, including patient scheduling updates and managing medical records in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Maintain a clean, organized clinic environment by adhering to infection control standards.
- Educate patients and families on oral health practices to promote ongoing wellness. [1, 2, 3]
Qualifications
- Required: Florida Radiography Certification or EFDA (Expanded Functions Dental Assistant) certification.
- Proven experience as a Dental Assistant or in a similar dental clinic setting.
- Proficiency with Eaglesoft dental software is preferred.
- Skilled in four-handed chairside assisting techniques.
- Skilled in managing family expectations and easing dental anxiety in young children.
- Strong understanding of infection control practices, aseptic techniques, and sterilization protocols.
- Knowledge of HIPAA regulations to ensure patient privacy. [1]
