Job Summary
Hawaii Boat Clubs is looking for a dependable, hands-on Part-Time Dockmaster for Honokohau Harbor in Kona. This is a great fit for someone who enjoys being around the water, takes pride in keeping boats and dock areas clean, safe, and organized, and likes helping members have an easy, welcoming boating experience.
Responsibilities
- Welcome members and guests, help with check-ins and check-outs, and keep dock activity running smoothly
- Assist with docking, lines, fenders, fueling, rinsing, cleaning, and general vessel readiness
- Keep boats, dock areas, safety gear, and shared equipment organized and ready for use
- Perform light maintenance and basic troubleshooting, such as checking fluids, batteries, bilges, lines, safety gear, and small equipment issues
- Report maintenance concerns and help coordinate repairs or follow-up with the team
- Maintain simple logs of boat use, condition, supplies, and safety checks
- Support a positive, professional, safety-minded waterfront environment
Requirements
- Reliable, punctual, and comfortable working outdoors around boats and docks
- Some boating, marina, dock, maintenance, mechanical, or hands-on trade experience is preferred
- Comfortable using basic tools and learning boat-care routines
- Strong communication skills and a helpful customer-service attitude
- Able to lift, bend, stand, walk docks, and work in sun, wind, or rain as needed
- Prior marina or boating experience is helpful, but we are willing to train the right person
