Job Overview
We are seeking a passionate and dynamic Child Care Director to lead and oversee the daily operations of our childcare center. In this vital role, you will create a nurturing, safe, and engaging environment where children can thrive and develop. You will coordinate educational programs, manage staff, communicate effectively with parents, and ensure compliance with all licensing and safety standards. Your energetic leadership will inspire staff and foster a community dedicated to early childhood development and exceptional care.
Duties
- Develop and implement age-appropriate curriculum plans that promote childhood development, including preschool, toddler, and infant care programs
- Lead, supervise, and support a team of teachers and caregivers to maintain high standards of childcare and classroom management
- Ensure all staff are trained in child supervision, behavior management, first aid, CPR, pediatric first aid, and mandated reporting laws
- Maintain compliance with licensing regulations and health & safety protocols at all times
- Communicate regularly with parents regarding their children's progress, behavior, and developmental milestones
- Oversee daily classroom activities, ensuring a safe environment for children with special needs or disabilities
- Manage administrative tasks such as enrollment, staff scheduling, record keeping, and reporting
Requirements
- Proven experience working with children in daycare or early childhood education settings; preschool or daycare center experience preferred
- Strong knowledge of childhood development instruction, behavior management techniques, and classroom management strategies
- Certification in first aid, CPR, pediatric first aid, and knowledge of mandated reporting laws required
- Experience working with children with disabilities or special needs is highly desirable
- Excellent communication skills for parent engagement and team collaboration
- Ability to lead a team effectively while maintaining a positive and energetic atmosphere
- Familiarity with early childhood education standards and licensing requirements
- Passion for nurturing children's growth through caregiving, teaching, and developmental activities
