Summary:
Responsible for coordinating and overseeing all aspects of account management for data abstraction clients. Performs primary abstraction duties, as well as provides training and guidance to supporting abstractors. Ensures high levels of abstraction accuracy for assigned accounts via validation activities. Demonstrates strong communication, documentation, organizing and planning skills to ensure strong leadership of multiple accounts concurrently. Assists management with operational duties and performance metrics, such as billing, time estimations, accuracy, efficiency, etc.
Other information:
Education - Bachelor’s Degree, LPN or RN preferred; or 3 years of abstraction experience in one or more Core Measures or other clinical registries.
Work Experience- Direct abstraction experience within last calendar year. Proficiency in abstraction specifications, various electronic medical records, data collection tools, billing/documentation practices, and other standard concepts within the healthcare quality improvement field. Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Demonstrates a high standard of accuracy and attention to detail.
Technology - Industry-related abstraction software, EHRs, Microsoft Excel/Google Sheets, Time Tracking and Project Management software (JIRA/Confluence preferred).
Skills - Computer savvy with ability to learn new EHRs and abstraction tools. Detail oriented, analytical and client focused. Strong communication skills, responsiveness and reliability. Ability to work on multiple projects in a time-oriented environment. Manage client relationships, expectations and
deadlines. Maintains strict confidentiality in all aspects of work as defined by HIPAA and company policies.
Certifications (preferred but not required) - Certified Professional in Healthcare Quality (CPHQ)
This job will be authorized 80.00 hours bi-weekly.
