The FSQA technician provides guidance and leadership to production personnel regarding food safety measures and practices. Ensures all customer concerns and or complaints are handled with extreme professionalism and care. Applies available tools and resources for reaching the desired outcome with food specifications and production.
Major tasks, responsibilities, and key accountabilities:

Provide daily monitoring of the facility and personnel to ensure compliance with the food safety system of the facility; perform a formal audit on GMPs

Ensure training of facility personnel on GMPs, risk preventive controls, hazard analysis, pre-requisite programs, and other applicable food safety system elements as required

Responsible for pre-operational inspections

Collect and analyze product samples as required, as well as document information derived from analysis

Safely keep records of all facility analytical results; immediately report results discovered to be out of specification to the QA supervisor

Provide documented reports of analytical results to the QA supervisor, also responsible for tracking and reporting data trends

Inspecting raw materials coming in; assisting in investigating non-conformance and complaints about product; and providing leadership for the facility team in performing self-audits

Aid in hosting visitors to the facility, including regulatory agency representatives and customer representatives, and function as the main host for the facility’s third-party auditors

Ensure product is processed to the company's HACCP/HARPC programs

Inform Quality Assurance Management of any food safety concerns

Implementing and managing food safety corrective actions

Provide assistance to local and corporate management in carrying out changes to the food safety system of the facility; give assistance in creating, reviewing, authenticating, and maintaining food safety system documents, including standard operating procedures (SOPs) and programs, working in collaboration with the quality assurance team; provide assistance in maintaining document registers and documentation

Handle any other duties as assigned by the QA supervisor and QA manager

Preferred Qualifications:
- Prior quality assurance experience preferred
- Food manufacturing experience
- Knowledge and understanding of applicable FDA regulations and GMPs preferred
- Experience performing administrative work, including completing and reconciling paperwork, preferred
Qualifications:

Working Conditions

This is largely a static role with standing; however, the ability to perform repetitive bending and standing up is also required. This would require the ability to lift 10-35 lbs. repetitively and up to 45 lbs. occasionally. Must also be able to push/pull up to 250 lbs on rollers occasionally.

This role operates in a wet and cold/refrigerated environment (around 35 degrees F) located within a manufacturing, warehousing, and production type facility. Must be able to withstand cold temperatures for the duration of the shift.
