Position Summary
The Cook is responsible for the preparation and execution of dishes and items during service at Cardoon. This role requires strong foundational cooking skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work efficiently in a professional kitchen environment. The ideal candidate is dependable, motivated, and eager to grow within a serious culinary program.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and execute menu items according to Cardoon’s standards and recipes
- Follow prep lists and station responsibilities for daily service
- Maintain cleanliness, organization, and sanitation of assigned stations
- Execute service with accuracy, consistency, and a sense of urgency
- Properly label, store, and rotate ingredients and prepared items
- Assist with prep and production across stations as needed
- Adhere to all food safety, sanitation, and workplace safety standards
- Work collaboratively with the kitchen team to ensure smooth service
Qualifications
- Previous professional kitchen experience preferred
- Strong foundational cooking skills and knife technique
- Ability to work nights, weekends, and holidays
- Excellent time management and organizational skills
- Attention to detail and consistency in execution
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 lbs
- Culinary degree or formal training is a plus, but not required

Pay: $16.00 - $18.00 per hour
