Position Summary: The Program Assistant for Senior Enrichment provides administrative support to the Senior Enrichment team and serves to assist in all aspects of the programs as needed. All members of the Senior Enrichment team are trained as substitute drivers to deliver meals when needed and may assist in the kitchen on occasion.
Supervisory Responsibilities: None
Essential Job Functions:
§ Provides direct service to participants which includes case assessment, coordination and referrals
§ Manages wellness program and makes calls to clients to check in monthly
§ Makes referrals for clients as appropriate
§ Inputs all wellness phone calls into SAMS
§ Calls clients in queue for new assessments, updates spreadsheet, assists coordinator with inputting information, updates queue
§ Sends letters to clients who can’t be reached
§ Calls clients for reassessments, inputs into SAMS, prints for records
§ Assists with scheduling and updating Case Manager calendars with new assessments and reassessments
§ Works with the team and communicates any needs to the supervisor that will allow for growth in the program
§ Maintains a minimum one week supply of program related supplies.
§ Reports any needed supplies to the supervisor one week prior to last anticipated use.
§ Keeps track of all supplies, and paperwork
§ Assists with filing and program paperwork as assigned
§ Answers program phone and returns phone calls
§ Utilizes industry specific databases to assist the Senior Nutrition Coordinator in completing paperwork and reports.
Additional Job Functions:
§ Fills in for drivers as needed
§ Assists in kitchen as needed
§ Completes assessments and reassessments as assigned
§ All other duties as assigned
Necessary Education and Training:
§ High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate’s degree preferred
§ ServSafe Certified or Kitchen experience preferred
§ Valid driver’s license and auto insurance required
§ Reliable transportation
§ Requires the ability to read and follow instructions
§ Computer literacy in the use of Windows-based programs including but not limited to Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook
§ Experience working with seniors and low income preferred
§ Outgoing, friendly personality and ability to work with people of all ages and skillsets
Physical Demands: In order to perform the essential functions of this position successfully the employee may be required to sit, stand, reach, lift, bend, kneel, stoop, climb, push and pull items weighing 50 pounds or less. This position requires manual dexterity, auditory and visual skills, and the ability to follow written or oral instructions and agency procedures.
Typical Working Conditions: This position operates in a office type environment as well as out in the community and in our kitchen. Basic office equipment and motor vehicles may be used on a consistent basis. Equipment such as an oven, stove, food warmer and chef’s knives are utilized. The employee may be frequently exposed to heat, steam, and noise. In addition, the employee may also be exposed to heat/cold, steam, dust, cigarette smoke, pet dander, bacteria, noise, and communicable diseases.

Pay: $14.00 - $15.00 per hour
