Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and proactive Shop Floor Manager to lead our manufacturing operations on the production floor. Responsibilities
- Lead and manage the shop floor team, ensuring effective communication, motivation, and development of staff members.
- Oversee production scheduling and planning using ERP systems such as SAP and MRP tools to meet delivery deadlines while maintaining quality standards.
- Implement lean manufacturing principles and Six Sigma methodologies to identify process improvements, reduce waste, and enhance productivity.
- Monitor manufacturing operations through data analysis in Excel and supply chain analytics to optimize workflows and resource allocation.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations, quality control procedures, and environmental standards across all production activities.
- Collaborate with engineering, quality assurance, supply chain, and maintenance teams to streamline processes and resolve operational issues swiftly.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives by analyzing performance metrics, leading root cause analysis, and applying process improvement techniques.
Requirements
- Proven experience in production management within a manufacturing environment, including familiarity with manufacturing management systems such as SAP or equivalent ERP platforms.
- Strong knowledge of supply chain management, production scheduling, assembly processes, and plant management practices.
- Demonstrated ability in process improvement methodologies like Lean management or Six Sigma to enhance operational efficiency.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel for data analysis, reporting, and decision-making support.
- Mechanical knowledge related to manufacturing equipment and assembly lines is highly desirable.
- Excellent team leadership skills with the ability to motivate staff and foster cross-functional communication.
- Ability to analyze complex data sets for supply chain analytics and operational insights; experience with ERP systems is essential.
