PlayMotion Kids is hiring a part-time Children’s Yoga, Fitness, Dance & Music Instructor for our upcoming academic-year season, running September through May.
This is a mobile teaching position. Our instructors travel to local preschools and childcare centers to lead structured, playful classes for children ages 12 months through 6 years.
Depending on experience, interests, and assigned locations, instructors may teach:
- PlayMotion Yoga
- PlayMotion Power-Play fitness
- Dance Discovery
- Music Makers
Instructors are not expected to teach every program type. We provide the curriculum, lesson plans, music, equipment, and paid training needed to teach assigned classes.

Academic-Year Schedule
- Classes run from September through May
- Classes are primarily offered during weekday daytime hours
- Instructors teach at assigned preschools and childcare centers
- Classes generally remain at the same day, time, and location each week
- The number of assigned classes will depend on instructor availability, location, and program enrollment
- School holidays and scheduled program breaks are observed
This is not a traditional shift-based position. Instructors are assigned recurring classes within the availability they provide and are expected to maintain that schedule consistently throughout the academic year.
A Day in the Life
As a PlayMotion Kids instructor, you will:
- Travel to assigned preschool and childcare locations
- Arrive prepared and on time for each class
- Set up and organize any needed equipment
- Lead engaging, developmentally appropriate classes for children ages 12 months through 6 years
- Use songs, stories, movement, games, imagination, and age-appropriate activities
- Adapt activities to the developmental needs of infants, toddlers, and preschoolers
- Maintain a safe, positive, and encouraging class environment
- Use effective early childhood classroom-management strategies
- Follow the provided PlayMotion Kids curriculum and class format
- Build positive relationships with children, teachers, and school directors
- Care for and keep track of company equipment and supplies
- Represent PlayMotion Kids professionally at every partner location
Required Qualifications
- At least 18 years old
- Early childhood experience
- Experience working directly with children ages 12 months through 6 years
- Reliable transportation
- Valid driver’s license and automobile insurance
- Ability to travel between assigned locations
- Ability to pass a fingerprint background check
- Consistent weekday daytime availability
- Professional, dependable, organized, and punctual
- Comfortable singing, moving, demonstrating activities, and leading groups of young children
- Able to get up and down from the floor and remain physically active throughout classes
Preferred Experience
Preference will be given to candidates with early childhood experience who also have a background in one or more of the following areas:
- Yoga and/or Children’s yoga
- Fitness or physical education
- Music education
- Dance or creative movement
- Gymnastics, sports, or children’s recreation
- Preschool or childcare enrichment programs
Formal certifications are welcome but not required. Strong early childhood experience, dependability, energy, and the ability to connect with young children are most important.
