Full-Time Shift Lead / Key Holder – Carnegie Hill Creamery

$18/hour + Tips (Guaranteed Minimum of $22/hour with Tip Allowance)
Carnegie Hill Creamery is looking for a dependable, energetic, and customer-focused full-time Shift Lead / Key Holder to become a key member of our small team.
This is not an entry-level position. We are looking for someone who is responsible enough to run the entire store independently during many shifts.
If you're the type of person who shows up early, takes ownership, enjoys working independently, and treats a business as if it were your own, we'd love to meet you.
Schedule
- Full-time (35-40 hours per week)
- Five shifts per week
- Open availability required
- Must be available to work nights, weekends, and holidays
- Most shifts are worked alone, so reliability is essential
What You'll Do
As the Shift Lead, you'll be responsible for every aspect of the store during your shift, including:
- Opening and closing the store
- Providing outstanding customer service
- Scooping premium ice cream and serving artisanal donuts
- Preparing shakes, sundaes, coffee, and specialty drinks
- Operating the POS and handling cash
- Maintaining a spotless store
- Stocking inventory and replenishing supplies
- Receiving deliveries and organizing storage
- Counting inventory and reporting shortages
- Following food safety and sanitation standards
- Completing opening and closing checklists
- Handling customer concerns professionally
- Working efficiently during busy periods without supervision

- Extremely reliable with excellent attendance

- Organized and detail-oriented
- Able to multitask while maintaining quality
- Able to lift up to 40 pounds
- Comfortable standing for long periods
- Authorized to work in the United States
Preferred Experience
- 1+ year of restaurant, café, bakery, dessert shop, or retail experience
- Previous key holder, shift lead, or supervisor experience preferred
- Experience opening and closing a business is a plus
Compensation
- Base Pay: $18/hour
- Guaranteed Minimum: $22/hour through our tip allowance program.
- We pay $18/hour plus all tips.
- If your hourly tips are less than $4/hour, we make up the difference so you earn at least $22/hour.
- If your tips exceed $4/hour, you keep the higher amount.
