Job Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Caregiver/Personal Care Aide to provide exceptional support to individuals in need of assistance with daily activities and personal care. This vital role involves fostering independence, ensuring safety, and promoting well-being within various care settings, including assisted living facilities, nursing homes, group homes, and home care environments. Responsibilities
- Assist residents or clients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), such as bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and mobility support
- Monitor vital signs including blood pressure, pulse, temperature, and respiration as needed
- Support individuals with memory care needs, including dementia and Alzheimer's disease, through personalized engagement and behavior management strategies
- Administer medications accurately following prescribed schedules and protocols
- Operate manual handling equipment like Hoyer lifts safely to transfer residents or clients
- Maintain a clean and safe environment by performing light housekeeping tasks such as cleaning resident areas and ensuring infection control standards are met
- Document care activities using Electronic Medical Record (EMR) systems accurately and promptly
- Support residents’ social engagement by facilitating group activities or one-on-one interactions to promote mental well-being
- Follow emergency procedures including first aid and CPR when necessary to ensure safety at all times
- Drive residents or clients when required for appointments or community outings while adhering to safety protocols
Skills
- Proven experience working with seniors or individuals with disabilities in assisted living, nursing home, or home & community care settings
- Strong understanding of dementia, Alzheimer's care, geriatrics, and behavior management techniques
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and handle manual transfers using proper techniques and equipment like Hoyer lifts
- Knowledge of medication administration procedures and vital signs monitoring
- Excellent caregiving skills with a compassionate approach toward residents’ <PERSON> needs
- Familiarity with EMR systems for accurate documentation of care activities
- Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities or in group home environments is highly desirable
- Ability to maintain professionalism while managing multiple responsibilities in fast-paced settings
- Valid driver’s license for driving duties related to resident transportation if required
