Opening for an HVAC Installer
General Position Description:
MEP Contractors (MEPCO) is seeking candidates for a position as a full time HVAC Installer with experience installing Sheet Metal.
MEPCO operates as a full-service maintenance provider for a variety of commercial clients. As a result, in addition to HVAC service, the candidate must be flexible to operate as a general repair technician at times as is required by MEPCO’s customer base. This will require the development and use of skills as they relate to HVAC, electrical, plumbing, troubleshooting, etc.
Responsibilities and Skills
· Ability to install RTU's, condensers, air handlers, accessories, refrigerant piping, sheet metal duct and duct board.
· Ability to install copper line sets, wiring, and drain lines.
· Ability to solder and braze
· Must be able to make accurate material takeoffs from the drawings and/or actual site conditions
· Follow blueprints, design specifications, and schematics to ensure accurate installation.
· Maintain a clean and safe work environment while in the field.
· Knowledge and compliance with OSHA’s safe work practices.
· Assist HVAC service department and perform general maintenance repairs as necessary.
· Use of a variety of hand and power tools
· Keep current on industry knowledge and new equipment.
· Maintain vehicle cleanliness, condition, and inventory.
· Flexibility to work weekends/overtime as needed
Required Qualifications
· EPA Approved Universal Certification or willingness to get
· High school diploma or equivalent
· 2-5 years of applicable field experience (Preferred)
· An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
· Valid driver’s license, and clean driving record
· Criminal background check and drug screening required
