General Characteristics
The application development analyst(s) will work closely with customers, business analysts, and team members to understand business requirements that drive the analysis and design of quality application software. These solutions must be aligned with business and IT strategies and comply with department’s architectural standards. The application development analyst(s) will be involved in the full systems life cycle and is responsible for designing, coding, testing, implementing, maintaining and supporting applications software that is delivered on time and within budget. The application development analyst(s) will make recommendations towards the development of new code or reuse of existing code. The application development analyst(s) responsibilities may also include participation in component and data architecture design, performance monitoring, product evaluation and buy vs. build recommendations. The application development analyst(s) should have experience in systems analysis, design and a solid understanding of development, quality assurance and integration methodologies.
Education: The application development analyst(s) should have a Bachelor’s Degree in
Computer Science, Information Systems or other related field or equivalent work experience.
Experience: The application development analyst(s) should have 2 to 5 years of
programming/systems analysis experience.
Complexity: The application development analyst(s) is an intermediate professional level role.
The application development analyst(s) will develop software solutions requiring analysis and
research. The application development analyst(s) will work on small to large, complex projects
that require increased skill in multiple technical environments and possesses knowledge in a
specific business area. The application development analyst(s) will work on one or more
projects as a project team member or occasionally as a project lead. The application
development analyst(s) may coach more junior technical staff.

Development Analyst with the following:
• Object Oriented Analysis/Design/Development/Deployment/Support

• Java Data Base Connectivity
• Eclipse Java Editor
• HTML
b. The department prefers candidate(s) demonstrate on their resume they have
proficient knowledge, skills and abilities with the following:
• BEA WebLogic
• Redhat LINUX
• Rational ClearCase
• Rational ClearQuest
• Rational Tool Administration
d. DCF considers highly desirable one or more candidates who can demonstrate on
their resume and in their interview that they have proficient knowledge, skills and
abilities with .NET and/or Crystal Reports.
e. Candidates must demonstrate on their resume they have proficient knowledge,
skills and abilities and 1 plus years experience as a Applications Development
Analyst with COBOL.
