Position Overview
We are seeking a highly innovative and research-driven R&D Engineer to join our growing technology team. The ideal candidate will possess strong scientific and engineering expertise, a proven track record of independent research, and the ability to transform novel concepts into proprietary technologies and patentable innovations.
This role is responsible for leading advanced research projects, developing new technologies, creating intellectual property, and driving the company's long-term technical competitiveness.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct advanced research and development in assigned technical fields.
- Design, develop, test, and validate innovative products, systems, or technologies.
- Identify emerging technologies and evaluate their commercial applications.
- Lead the development of proprietary solutions and intellectual property strategies.
- Prepare and support patent applications, technical disclosures, and invention documentation.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate research findings into practical products.
- Publish technical reports, white papers, and internal research documentation as needed.
- Analyze experimental data and provide recommendations for product improvements.
- Support technology transfer from research to commercialization.
- Stay current with industry trends, scientific literature, and competitive technologies.
Required Qualifications
- Ph.D. degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Robotics, Electrical Engineering, Materials Science, Mechanical Engineering, Physics, or a related technical field.
- Demonstrated ability to independently conduct research and solve complex technical challenges.
- Proven experience in developing innovative technologies from concept through implementation.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and experimental design skills.
- Excellent technical writing and documentation abilities.
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively within multidisciplinary teams.
- Strong communication and presentation skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience leading research projects in industrial or academic environments.
- Track record of technology commercialization.
- Experience working with government-funded research programs, innovation grants, or technology incubators.
- Publications in peer-reviewed journals, conferences, or technical forums.
- Experience managing intellectual property portfolios.
Intellectual Property Requirements
Candidates must demonstrate the ability to generate original innovations and contribute to the company's intellectual property development efforts. Preference will be given to candidates who possess one or more of the following:
- Named inventor on issued patents.
- Patent applications filed as primary or co-inventor.
- Demonstrated experience creating patentable technologies or proprietary methodologies.
- Strong understanding of patent drafting, invention disclosure, and IP protection processes.
- Proven ability to identify commercially valuable research opportunities.
