Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and energetic Registered Dental Hygienist (RDH) to join our new vibrant dental team in Pacific Grove, CA. In this vital role, you will deliver exceptional patient care by providing comprehensive dental hygiene services, educating patients on oral health, and supporting the overall efficiency of our dental practice. Duties
- Perform thorough dental cleanings, including scaling and polishing, to maintain optimal oral health for patients of all ages.
- Take and develop dental radiographs (X-rays) using dental x-ray equipment, ensuring accuracy and patient safety.
- Conduct patient assessments by reviewing medical history, vital signs, and current dental conditions to inform treatment plans.
- Educate patients on proper oral hygiene techniques, preventive care, and post-treatment instructions to promote lifelong dental health.
- Assist the dentist during procedures with chairside assisting, managing dental instruments and materials efficiently.
- Maintain accurate and detailed medical records using electronic health records (Dentrix), ensuring HIPAA compliance and confidentiality.
- Follow infection prevention protocols through aseptic techniques and infection control procedures to safeguard patient and staff health.
Requirements
- Valid state licensure as a Registered Dental Hygienist (RDH).
- Proven experience in general dentistry or pediatric dentistry settings, with a strong understanding of dental terminology and equipment.
- Proficiency in Dentrix is highly preferred.
- Knowledge of medical terminology, medical imaging, and medical coding to accurately document patient information.
- Ability to perform dental x-ray procedures safely while adhering to radiation safety standards.
- Excellent communication skills for client education, team collaboration, and maintaining a positive patient experience.
- Commitment to HIPAA compliance management and maintaining patient confidentiality at all times.
- Strong understanding of healthcare infection prevention and control practices, including aseptic technique and infection management protocols.
