Professional Oncology Coder

Overview
Our healthcare client is seeking an experienced Professional Oncology Coder to support physician coding operations during a Revenue Cycle transformation initiative. This role will support oncology providers by ensuring accurate professional coding, compliance, and efficient billing workflows.
The successful candidate will have oncology coding experience and the ability to quickly adapt to evolving workflows.
Responsibilities
- Perform professional coding for oncology physician services.
- Assign accurate CPT and ICD-10-CM codes based on clinical documentation.
- Review oncology documentation including evaluation and management services, procedures, and treatments.
- Ensure coding compliance with payer and regulatory requirements.
- Support specialty-specific coding workflows.
- Collaborate with providers and revenue cycle leadership.
- Assist with pod-based coverage when needed.
Required Qualifications
- CPC certification required.
- Epic Experience
- Professional oncology coding experience.
- Experience with physician billing workflows.
- Strong knowledge of oncology coding guidelines.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience coding:
- Medical oncology
- Hematology oncology
- Chemotherapy administration services
- Infusion-related professional services.
- Experience in an academic medical environment.
Pay: $27.00 - $29.00 per hour
