General Manager – Role Overview
The General Manager (GM) role is multifaceted, requiring a strong balance of leadership, financial acumen, and guest focus. This position is responsible for driving operational excellence while building a high-performing team and delivering an exceptional guest experience.
Key Responsibilities
Operational Oversight
- Oversee daily bar and restaurant operations, including opening and closing procedures
- Manage inventory and ensure adherence to all Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
- Make day-to-day operational decisions that keep the business running smoothly and guests satisfied
Team Leadership
- Recruit, train, coach, and motivate team members to deliver exceptional service
- Lead by example while embodying the brand’s culture, passion, and hospitality standards
- Build and maintain a positive workplace culture that supports employee engagement, morale, and retention
Financial Performance
- Manage labor costs, cost of goods sold (COGS), and overall sales performance to meet profitability goals
- Review daily sales reports and analyze food and beverage cost trends
- Ensure proper cash handling procedures are followed
- Submit payroll, track labor against budgets, and identify opportunities to improve profitability
Guest Experience
- Maintain a clean, welcoming, and consistent environment that exceeds guest expectations
- Drive guest satisfaction and repeat business
- Professionally and calmly resolve guest concerns or complaints
Compliance & Safety
- Ensure compliance with local liquor laws, health codes, and labor regulations
- Maintain proper food storage temperatures and required food safety certifications
- Manage responsible alcohol service to prevent over-serving
- Prepare and maintain documentation for regulatory inspections
- Foster a safe, respectful, and harassment-free workplace
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $55,000.00 - $75,000.00 per year
