Skilled Machine Operator – 1st, 2nd & 3rd Shift
Premier Staffing Unlimited is currently recruiting experienced Skilled Machine Operators for manufacturing opportunities on 1st, 2nd, and 3rd shifts.
These are hands-on machine operating positions and require previous experience working with industrial machinery. These are not automated, push-button operator roles. The equipment requires operators who are mechanically inclined, comfortable making adjustments, troubleshooting issues, handling materials, and physically working with the machinery throughout the shift.
Candidates must also be comfortable with consistent heavy lifting and physically demanding work.
Responsibilities
- Set up, operate, and maintain industrial production machinery.
- Perform machine setup, calibration, cleaning, and adjustments.
- Control and adjust machine settings, including speed and other operating parameters.
- Manually feed raw materials or parts into machinery as required.
- Monitor equipment throughout the production process.
- Troubleshoot mechanical and operational issues as they occur.
- Make appropriate machine adjustments to maintain production and quality.
- Inspect finished products for defects, flaws, or machine-related issues.
- Use precision measuring tools such as calipers and micrometers.
- Read and follow blueprints, schematics, equipment manuals, and production instructions.
- Maintain accurate production and activity records.
- Follow all required safety procedures and consistently wear required PPE.
- Perform frequent and consistent heavy lifting throughout the shift.
- Maintain a clean and safe work area.
- Work closely with other operators, maintenance personnel, and production team members.
Qualifications
- Previous skilled machine operating experience is required.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and hands-on troubleshooting ability.
- Experience operating older, manually adjusted, or mechanically operated industrial equipment is highly preferred.
- Must be comfortable working directly with machinery rather than primarily operating automated or push-button equipment.
- Ability to identify and troubleshoot basic mechanical problems.
- Experience using calipers, micrometers, and other measurement tools preferred.
- Ability to read blueprints, schematics, manuals, and production instructions.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a production team.
- Must have the physical strength and stamina to perform consistent heavy lifting and physical work throughout the shift.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; technical or mechanical training is a plus.
- Must be able to successfully complete required pre-employment screening.

This position is best suited for someone who considers themselves a true machine operator and is comfortable getting hands-on with equipment. If your previous experience has primarily involved loading a machine, pressing a button, and removing the finished product, this position may not be the right fit.
