On-Call Availability Required About the Position Brighter Days Housing, LLC is seeking a dependable, motivated, and experienced House Manager to oversee the operations of our residential homes serving adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD).
The House Manager is responsible for ensuring high-quality, person-centered care while maintaining compliance with state regulations and company policies. This leadership role requires someone who can lead by example, support Direct Support Professionals (DSPs), maintain a well-organized home, and promote a safe, respectful, and positive environment for both residents and staff.
Key Responsibilities
Supervise the daily operations of the residential home during assigned shifts. Lead, coach, and support DSP staff while ensuring accountability and professionalism.
Ensure all residents receive quality, individualized, person-centered care.
Monitor staff performance and ensure completion of daily responsibilities, including documentation, medication records, housekeeping, and resident care.
Maintain compliance with DBHDS regulations, licensing standards, Medicaid Waiver requirements, and company policies.
Review and ensure accuracy of Therap documentation, MARs, incident reports, and other required records.
Coordinate with management regarding staffing, scheduling, and operational needs.
Communicate professionally with families, support coordinators, case managers, medical providers, and other members of the interdisciplinary team.
Respond appropriately to emergencies and provide on-call support when needed.
Foster a positive team culture built on respect, communication, accountability, and professionalism.
Qualifications
Minimum of 2 years of experience in a group home, residential, or human services setting. Previous supervisory, lead staff, or management experience preferred.
Experience supporting individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities preferred.
Strong leadership, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to multitask and make sound decisions in a fast-paced environment.
Reliable transportation and a valid driver's license preferred.
Ability to pass all required background checks and meet Virginia state employment requirements.
Preferred Certifications
CPR/First Aid Certification (or willingness to obtain)
Medication Administration Certification
TOVA or other required Virginia IDD training
