Responsibilities
- Perform thorough cleaning of classrooms, hallways, restrooms, cafeterias, gyms, and other common areas using appropriate cleaning agents and equipment.
- Operate and maintain cleaning tools such as floor buffers, vacuums, mops, and other custodial equipment to ensure optimal cleanliness.
- Handle chemical agents safely by following established chemical handling safety procedures and safety protocol adherence.
- Conduct floor care activities including buffing, stripping, waxing, and polishing to maintain a professional appearance.
- Perform heavy lifting tasks safely when moving furniture, supplies, or cleaning equipment in accordance with safe lifting practices.
- Assist with minor maintenance tasks such as residential painting or basic repairs to ensure facilities remain in excellent condition.
- Follow all safety protocols during custodial activities to prevent accidents and ensure a secure environment for everyone on campus.
- Maintain inventory of cleaning supplies and report needs for replenishment or repairs promptly.
- Support sanitation efforts by ensuring restrooms are disinfected regularly and trash is collected efficiently.
- Provide excellent customer service by responding promptly to custodial requests from staff or administration.
Experience
- Prior janitorial or custodial experience in a school or commercial setting is preferred but not required; training will be provided for motivated candidates.
- Familiarity with cleaning equipment such as floor buffers, vacuums, and commercial cleaning tools is advantageous.
- Knowledge of chemical handling safety procedures and sanitation standards is highly desirable.
- Experience with facilities maintenance tasks like minor repairs or residential painting will be considered a plus.
- Ability to perform manual handling tasks including heavy lifting while maintaining safe practices is essential.
- Strong attention to detail with a proactive approach to maintaining cleanliness and safety standards.
- Excellent work ethic with the ability to follow safety protocols diligently while delivering high-quality custodial services.
