- This position requires extensive knowledge of anatomy and physiology, ultrasound practices for vein mapping with arterial and venous studies including upper and lower extremity, renal studies including renal doppler.
- Majority of our patients are on dialysis
- Tech needs to be able to work independently and think outside the box.

Education Required:
- High school Diploma
- Associate's degree in diagnostic Medical Sonography
- preferred bachelor's degree
Licensure/Certification:
- Preferred: Credentialed Registered Vascular Tech (RVT through ARDMS) or Registered Vascular Specialist (RVS) with in 12 to 18 months of hire.
- Preferred: American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) certification
- Required: ARMS SPI Certificate
Experience:
REQUIRED: 1 to 2 years' experience with acute care or vascular lab, non-invasive vascular ultrasound testing. One year experience with specific diagnostic protocol in lower and upper extremity evaluation and abdominal. Experience with GE ultrasound machines preferred.
Essential Responsibilities:
- Demonstrates compliance with code of conduct and compliance policies, takes action to resolve compliance questions or concerns and reports suspected violations.
- Obtains appropriate medical history before patient examination and prepares patient for exam
- Performs appropriate ultrasound procedures as ordered
- Maintains cleanliness of all equipment and room while maintaining adequate stock of supplies
- Uses PACS according to protocol
- Maintains equipment; reporting all deficiencies to the immediate supervisor
additional duties:
- stocks room appropriately for exams at the end of shift
- uses EHR, patient tracker, and follow-up reporting as required
- anticipates radiologists' needs by review of patient history and previous exams
- demonstrates cost effectiveness by using judgment when opening and using supplies
- works closely with Physician and Coordinators to ensure smooth transition and continuation of care for patient
