Job Summary
We are looking for a friendly and motivated Deli Clerk to join our retail team. In this role, you'll be the face of our deli section, helping customers select fresh, delicious foods while ensuring the area is clean, organized, and inviting. Responsibilities
- Prepare and assemble deli items such as sandwiches, salads, and cold cuts following established recipes and quality standards.
- Assist customers with their selections, answer questions about products, and provide friendly service.
- Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of the deli area, including proper food handling and storage practices in compliance with food safety regulations.
- Operate POS systems like Aloha POS or Micros POS for sales transactions, cash handling, and receipts.
- Restock shelves, organize displays, and ensure that the deli section is attractive and well-stocked throughout the shift.
- Support food safety standards by following sanitation procedures and proper food handling techniques.
- Upsell products to increase sales by suggesting complementary items or specials to customers.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in food preparation, retail, or food service is a plus but not required; training will be provided.
- Basic math skills for cash handling, pricing, and inventory management.
- Knowledge of POS systems such as Aloha POS or Micros POS is beneficial.
- Strong customer service skills with a friendly attitude and good communication abilities.
- Ability to manage time effectively in a quick service or fast-food environment while multitasking efficiently.
- Familiarity with food safety practices, sanitation standards, and proper food handling procedures.
