As we continue to grow, we are expanding our leadership team with a dedicated Patient Relations Coordinator—a proactive professional who can elevate patient experiences, optimize clinic operations, and support our providers with precision and care.

Who You Are
A strong candidate for the Optical Coordinator role brings a blend of technical expertise, leadership capability, and patient‑centered communication. You are:
- Highly detail‑oriented with demonstrated experience in insurance verification and benefits coordination
- Tech‑savvy and confident navigating EMR platforms and optical management systems
- An excellent communicator who builds trust and rapport with patients and teammates
- Organized, reliable, and committed to maintaining high standards of accuracy and efficiency
- A positive, solutions‑focused team member with natural leadership qualities
- Skilled in optical product education, sales, and dispensing
- Comfortable recommending frames, lenses, and contact lens options tailored to patient needs
- Experienced with digital diagnostic instruments (preferred)
- ABO certified (strong plus)
- Experienced in training, mentoring, or supporting team development (preferred)
Schedule & Hours
- Full-time, 5 days per week
- Minimum 35 hours
- On-site at both Rantoul and Urbana locations
Compensation & Benefits
- $18–$20/hour, based on experience
- Additional compensation available for candidates who pass a conversational or medical Spanish assessment
- Full-time role with long-term advancement opportunities
- Benefits begin after 90 days

Preferred Qualifications
- Minimum 1 years of optical or medical office experience or in customer service
- ABO certification
- Proven leadership, training, or team coordination experience
- Strong accountability and follow-through
- Calm, professional approach to problem-solving
- Spanish language proficiency highly valued
Key Responsibilities
As the Optical Coordinator, you will play a central role in ensuring smooth clinic operations and exceptional patient care. Daily responsibilities include:
- Managing insurance verification, authorizations, and benefits coordination
- Overseeing patient communication, including phone support, appointment scheduling, and reminder outreach
- Collecting and documenting patient case histories with accuracy and professionalism
- Supporting billing processes following patient exams
- Operating and maintaining diagnostic equipment, including autorefractors, tonometers, visual field analyzers, and OCT systems
- Ensuring efficient workflow and supporting team members as needed
