Black Knight Patrol Inc. is seeking reliable, professional, and highly attentive Unarmed Security Officers / Fire Watch Officers for an aerospace client located in Hawthorne, California.
This is an active security position that requires officers to remain alert and mobile throughout their shift. Officers will conduct continuous patrols of assigned areas, perform Fire Watch duties, identify and report potential safety or security concerns, and maintain a visible security presence throughout the facility.
Available Shifts
Day Shift: 6:00 AM – 2:00 PM
Swing Shift: 2:00 PM – 10:00 PM
Graveyard Shift: 10:00 PM – 6:00 AM
Applicants should have reliable availability for their assigned shift and be prepared to maintain a consistent work schedule.
Primary Responsibilities
- Conduct regular foot patrols throughout assigned buildings, work areas, and surrounding property
- Perform designated Fire Watch patrols and inspections
- Remain alert for signs of smoke, fire, unusual odors, overheating equipment, or other potential fire and life safety hazards
- Immediately report emergency conditions and initiate established notification procedures when necessary
- Maintain accurate Fire Watch, patrol, and Daily Activity Report documentation
- Monitor entrances, exits, restricted areas, and other designated locations
- Observe and report suspicious persons, vehicles, activities, safety hazards, and security concerns
- Maintain awareness of activity occurring throughout the assigned area
- Follow client-specific security, safety, and emergency procedures
- Maintain professional communication with client personnel, visitors, contractors, and Black Knight Patrol supervision
- Respond promptly to radio calls, alarms, incidents, and requests for assistance
- Maintain a professional and visible security presence throughout the entire shift
Physical Requirements
This is an active foot-patrol position. Applicants must be physically capable of performing the essential duties of the assignment.
Officers must be able to:
- Walk and patrol for extended periods throughout an 8-hour shift
- Stand for extended periods
- Frequently climb and descend stairs
- Patrol multiple floors and areas of a large industrial/aerospace facility
- Bend, stoop, turn, and move through assigned patrol areas as necessary
- Work indoors and outdoors depending on assignment requirements
- Remain awake, attentive, and observant throughout the entire shift
Applicants who are unable to perform frequent walking or stair climbing should not apply for this assignment.
Minimum Qualifications
- Valid California BSIS Guard Card
- Valid CPR/First Aid Certification
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- Previous security experience preferred
- Fire Watch, industrial, manufacturing, construction, or aerospace security experience is a plus
- Strong observation skills and attention to detail
- Ability to recognize and immediately report potential safety and security hazards
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions
- Ability to complete accurate written and electronic reports
- Professional appearance and communication skills
- Reliable transportation to and from Hawthorne, CA
- Reliable attendance and punctuality
- Ability to work independently with limited supervision
- Must be comfortable working in an active industrial environment
- Must be able to maintain confidentiality regarding client operations and activities
Uniform
Officers are expected to maintain a clean, professional, and properly groomed appearance at all times.
What We Are Looking For
The ideal candidate is someone who understands that Fire Watch and security duties require constant attention. This is not a position where officers can remain seated for the majority of the shift.
