Pay Range: $65,000 - $85,000 annually, based on experience, qualifications, and demonstrated leadership ability.

Position Summary
The Production Foreman is responsible for overseeing daily operations within the production facility. This role coordinates production schedules, supervises employees, ensures compliance with safety and quality standards, monitors workflow, and supports operational objectives. The Foreman serves as a working leader and coach, helping employees achieve performance expectations while maintaining a safe and productive workplace.
Essential Functions

Maintain regular and reliable attendance.

Coordinate tasks according to production priorities, schedules, and customer requirements.

Produce work schedules and monitor employee attendance.

Allocate general and daily responsibilities to team members.

Direct and oversee daily production activities.
-
Supervise, train, coach, and develop production employees.
-
Ensure adequate staffing, manpower, materials, and resources are available to meet production demands.

Monitor workflow and production performance to ensure efficiency and quality.

Enforce all company safety policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
-
Conduct safety observations and ensure all safety precautions are followed.

Ensure all quality standards and customer specifications are achieved.

Review work orders and production documentation for accuracy and completion.
-
Supervise the safe and proper use of machinery, forklifts, overhead cranes, and related equipment.

Assist with troubleshooting equipment and process issues.

Monitor inventory movement and material flow throughout the facility.
-
Investigate quality concerns and implement corrective actions when necessary.
-
Complete and maintain required production reports and documentation.
-
Participate in employee evaluations, corrective actions, training initiatives, and performance improvement efforts.

Identify opportunities to improve productivity, efficiency, quality, and workplace safety.

Collaborate with leadership to support company goals and operational objectives.

Qualifications
Required Qualifications

High school diploma or GED required.

Previous supervisory, management, or leadership experience in a manufacturing, warehouse, industrial, or production environment.

Ability to read and follow work orders, customer specifications, and production instructions.

Ability to complete and maintain accurate production documentation.

Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.

Ability to effectively train, coach, and develop employees.

Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.

Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and responsibilities.

Basic computer skills and experience with production tracking systems.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience in steel processing, steel service centers, slitting operations, or metal manufacturing environments.

Knowledge of crane and forklift operations.
-
Experience with ERP systems and inventory management software.
-
Continuous improvement or Lean Manufacturing experience.

OSHA safety training or related certifications.
Technical Requirements

Knowledge of current forklift and overhead crane operations.
-
Ability to perform complete setup and operational tasks associated with steel slitting equipment to ensure compliance with customer specifications.

Working knowledge of quality standards, production processes, and manufacturing best practices.
-
Ability to interpret work orders, production schedules, and operational reports.
Working Conditions
This position works within a steel processing and slitting facility and is regularly exposed to:

Production machinery and moving mechanical equipment

Forklifts and overhead cranes

Moderate to high noise levels

Hot and cold temperatures due to a non-climate-controlled environment

Dust, metal products, and industrial manufacturing conditions
